Day 4 - Yonge Street Mission

We are now able to post here on the blog. Our internet service is partially back and we are at least able to post by text service. We will be posting some pictures from Sunday later today.
Yesterday we celebrated Resurrection Sunday at Calvary Church and then immediately went to Yonge Street Mission to help with their Easter Meal. We set up tables and chairs, prepared the meal, served over 150 meals. cleaned up and tore down all the able again. Their mission serves one of the poorest neighborhoods in Toronto.
It was wonderful to see our team discovering and working in gifts they did not know they had. Josh can start a meaningful conversation with complete strangers like no one I've seen. Jake and Aaron volunteered to wash every dish, pan and glass in the place. Morgan sat, talked and prayed with a woman there by herself. By the end of the day each member of the team had a story of God blessing them despite the menial nature of the jobs we were doing.
We had a wonderful time of testimony when we returned to the church for the night. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to work tomorrow. We will post some pictures from Sunday when we return later this afternoon.

  1. Dear Jack, Robin and students,
What a tremendous way to spend Easter. Jesus is really honored and glorified when you serve the poor, needy, and lonely in His name. As you go on through this week, my prayer is that you will continually be recharged by the Holy Spirit working in and through you.
    Love, Peg and Ed Savidge

  2. It is so great to read your updates about what God's doing in Toronto! Praise God that you're all learning about different spiritual gifts you have. I'm praying for each and every one of you by name. Philippians 1:3-11.

I can't wait to come back to New Jersey and visit King's so that you can tell me all about what God did in Canada!
